Capturing Curriculum: Video for VA

Alexandria, Virginia - Oak Groves is supporting VA initiatives with video production.

OGT produces a variety of video and multimedia products ranging from live video shoots, including actors, to media centered video, incorporating flash and other graphics-based animations.

Most recently, Oak Grove created the video element for inclusion in the VA web-based training course: Increase Your Suicide Prevention Skills with Older Veterans.

While this product will only be viewed by a limited audience, Oak Grove believes that the message is most effective when the production-effort is of a grand scale; including engaging characters, realistic scenarios, and believable dialogue.

Creating video products like this proves to be both enjoyable and challenging. “What we are trying to achieve is a video that goes beyond 'talking heads' simply passing along information, and is instead a video that is interesting to watch and engages the learner,” said Sara Warner, Oak Grove production staff.

Oak Grove employs a gifted production team and casted a talented group of generationally-appropriate actors capable of delivering clinical dialog with both personality and authority such that the clinicians watching the video would believe the characters and scenario.

Oak Grove also uses programs like Flash and Captivate to produce digital multimedia videos when live video is not necessary, or cost effective; This avenue for either training or information purposes allows our clients to efficiently distribute information over the web.
