Alexandria, VA – Oak Grove is pleased to announce that it will be designing a series of online courses for Adventist HealthCare.
Adventist HealthCare will be implementing the Cerner electronic records management system in its hospitals. The Cerner system is expected to foster an environment of increased patient safety and hospital efficiency.
Oak Grove’s instructional design team is working with Adventist HealthCare to design the web-based learning portion of its overall Cerner training. Learning a new software system can be overwhelming and Oak Grove understands that the most effective software training is highly contextual. For this reason, we envision a series of scenario-based courses that give the learner a real “day-in-the-life” perspective on the Cerner system. We view the web-based courses as an important adjunct to the longer, instructor-led courses during which Adventist staff will have the opportunity for more advanced hands-on training.
Oak Grove’s Senior Instructional Designer, Susan Struthers said, “This is an exciting challenge to launch the training within a tight deadline for an audience of 6,000+.”
Over the course of the project, Oak Grove will write storyboards with well-defined learning objectives and develop these within a course template with a strong user interface design. We’ll then work with Adventist to launch the courses on the Adventist Learning Management System (LMS).
Oak Grove is looking forward to working with Adventist HealthCare’s Care Excellence team on this project.
