President / CEO Speaks on Panel at NC Federal IT Symposium

Chapel Hill, NC - The North Carolina Federal IT Symposium was held yesterday, June 17, at the Friday Center in Chapel Hill, NC.   President and CEO, Mark Gross, participated in a panel discussion regarding personal success stories of doing business with the federal government. Oak Grove was also a sponsor and exhibitor for this event.

The Symposium offered "...information to local businesses about federal technology opportunities, federal contracting processes for IT goods and services, and subcontracting opportunities with major contractors providing IT services to the Department of Defense and other federal agencies."

Mark was joined on the panel by three successful North Carolina business executives: President of USfalcon, Inc., Chief Financial Officer of RLM, Inc., and Co-founder/COO/Vice President of Carolina Advanced Digital, Inc.  Shapleigh Drisko, Director, Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization at U.S. Department of State, served as Moderator.

"The NC Federal IT Symposium provided a perfect opportunity for up and coming local small businesses to learn more about doing business with the federal government," said Gross.  "Each company represented on our panel has done an incredible job excelling in this industry, and I was flattered to be invited to share the hardships and successes I encountered while building Oak Grove.  I do hope those who attended yesterday found the information presented to be beneficial.  It's important for NC based businesses to understand that pursuing work with the federal government is definitely doable in our location.  Anything is possible with hard work, perseverance, and the right attitude.  Many thanks to the North Carolina Military Business Center who hosted the Symposium."
