Over 75% of US Veterans struggle with their weight. MOVE!^® is a national weight management program designed to help Veterans lose weight, keep it off, and improve their health.

The MOVE!^® weight loss program is the largest weight loss program in the world. The program is not a diet; it is a lifestyle change program with varying degrees of support as needed to teach Veterans how to make and maintain long-term changes in eating habits and physical activity. There are different ways to participate in the program depending on the Veteran’s requirements and schedule. By providing self-management tools, Veterans are equipped to make changes that will improve their health.

At its core, MOVE!^® is a patient-centered weight self-management program. Oak Grove’s role was to design and create engaging Web-based training for the clinicians responsible for screening, supporting, educating, and guiding Veterans throughout their journey to improved health.

The MOVE!® course presents tools for clinicians to tailor their approach when discussing the program with individual patients and covers topics such as how to screen Veterans for participation; the menu of programs available to Veterans in the program; and information on nutrition, exercise, and mentoring.
