PROGRAM MANAGEMENT SUPPORT

Oak Grove Technologies has a proven record of providing quality program management support services to our clients.  We have extensive experience managing and integrating the activities of interdependent project teams consisting of both Oak Grove and subcontractor staff.  As a prime contractor, Oak Grove currently manages teams including large and small business partners in geographically dispersed locations within the US and abroad. We are also in the process of becoming certified at process maturity Level 3 under the CMMI model.

 

Oak Grove recognizes the importance of each phase of the project management life cycle from project initiation and planning, through execution, monitoring, and closing.  Through these processes, Oak Grove helps to ensure that projects align with the strategic direction of the organization.  Typical activities performed in each phase are outlined below.

  • Project Initiation -  establish the project charter
  • Project Planning – define scope, plan resources, define activities, develop schedule, estimate costs, develop project plan
  • Project Execution – allocate resources and staff, carry out project plan
  • Project Monitoring and Control – establish baselines, use EVM to determine cost and schedule variances, provide corrective actions, establish change control procedures, manage risks
  • Project Closing – verify completion of work, collect and archive project records

Our managers use Project Management Institute (PMI) methodologies and techniques to ensure that customers receive quality deliverables and services on time and within budget.  Oak Grove actively employs earned value management (EVM) tools  to help agencies comply with the OMB policy requiring the use of EVM to plan and manage major IT development efforts.
