Raleigh, NC – April is a special month for Oak Grove Technologies as we celebrate seven successful years in business! Founded in 2003 by President and CEO, Mark Gross, Oak Grove has grown rapidly and now has close to 200 employees performing services in the fields of training, information technology, strategic communications, and analytical / intelligence analysis.
Dedication and hard work paid off for Mark and Oak Grove over the last seven years, and as a result, the company is a proud recipient of numerous awards and recognitions. In 2007, Oak Grove was the first SDVOSB to receive the prestigious U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) Nunn-Perry Award for Mentor-Protégé Excellence. Oak Grove and its mentor, Science Applications International Corporation were among eight companies recognized for their outstanding contributions to the warfighter and our nation’s defense. Oak Grove also received the Department of Defense SDVOSB Achievement Award in 2007.
Oak Grove experienced tremendous success in 2008 and 2009. Mark was recognized as the 2008 Southeast Region and North Carolina Veteran Small Business Champion of the Year. This prestigious award was presented by the United State Small Business Administration to those who have fulfilled a commitment to the advancement of small business, including advocating the cause of small business in the legislative process, and volunteering time and services to small business interests and groups. Mark was selected above his peers for his advocacy and expertise on Veterans business issues. In May 2008, the Raleigh News and Observer published a story on Mark, “Vet Pushes Opportunity”, focusing on the successes of Oak Grove, and Mark’s personal success as a veteran entrepreneur. As 2008 neared its end, the North Carolina Technology Association named Oak Grove Mid-sized Company of the Year. In late January of 2009, Oak Grove opened its third office and is now fully operating out of Sierra Vista, Arizona. After numerous contract wins throughout 2009, the Alexandria, Virginia office location was relocated to a larger facility to better accommodate Oak Grove’s continually expanding team. In August 2009, Oak Grove was named to the 28th Annual Inc. 5000 | 500 list of Fastest Growing Private Companies in America for the second year in a row.
