OAK GROVE PARTNERS WITH NC STATE UNIVERSITY TO EXECUTE LANGUAGE SKILLS PROGRAM

Oak Grove Technologies is working with NC State University to develop an advanced language(s) skills program for the United States Army John F Kennedy Special Warfare Center & School (USAJFKSWCS) at Fort Bragg, NC. 

NC State University received a grant to develop and execute an advanced language program for Special Operations Forces, Civil Affairs, and Military Information Support Operations soldiers. Oak Grove will develop learning scenarios and cultural immersions to support the validation of the program. Oak Grove is currently writing scripts and coordinating scenarios for instructors and role players to facilitate the language and cultural immersions. The program will be conducted at the Oak Grove Training Center where villages are constructed to replicate foreign environments.

The exercise will take place over a five day period. Soldiers will face a myriad of scenarios, varying in complexity, designed to re-enforce their language skills, as well as test their understanding of the culture associated with their foreign language knowledge. 

This final exercise is preceded by 6 months of formal language and culture instruction, taught by NC State professors, on location at the USAJFKSWCS at Ft. Bragg, NC. This type of instruction, combining NC State professors and a weeklong immersion, is unique within the SOF community and will serve as a test bed for future language instruction.
