SUMMER ’15 TACTICAL TRAINING SERIES AT WAKE TECH
Friday, June 05th, 2015
Raleigh, NC – Oak Grove kicked off the advanced tactical law enforcement training series we’re offering this summer through Wake Technical Community College.
The first course in a series of five hosted 12 students on June 1-3 for the “Tactical Night Vision (NV) Operations” course at the Wake County range and campus SIMS room. The three-day course was designed to provide students with the knowledge and skills needed for the effective use of night vision devices employed with firearms in tactical situations. The course featured classroom presentation, range live fire, drills/exercises, and scenario-based training.
The course focused on the following objectives and skills:
- Operate night vision goggles (NVG) effectively and be familiar with the peripheral tools and technologies.
- Demonstrate individual skills and tasks under NVG to speed movement through Observe, Orient, Decide, Act (OODA) decision cycle.
- Employ tactics and techniques to mislead, disorient, and defeat adversaries while using NVG.
Spearheading the courses are top-tier instructors Bradley Manville and Perry Knust. Both come from extensive backgrounds in the industry and bring a wealth of knowledge to our students.
