Continued Gold Streak

For a second consecutive year, Oak Grove Technologies won two coveted Brandon Hall Group Gold awards. Our work with Novus Origo, Greenvale Partners, and the Department of Veteran’s Affairs was recognized for excellence in the Best Use of 508 Requirements for Training Programs category and Best Use of Video for the Learning category.

The Web-Mediated Self-Help (WMSH) series of courseware has continued to receive recognition from industry experts through numerous avenues.  This year, it was the Anger and Irritability Management Skills (AIMS) course that brought home the gold in both categories.

The entries were evaluated by a panel of veteran, independent senior industry experts, Brandon Hall ​Group Sr. Analysts and Executive Leadership based upon the following criteria: fit the need, design of the program, functionality, accessible delivery, and overall measureable benefits.

As a group, the awards recognize the best organizations that have successfully developed and deployed programs, strategies, modalities, processes, systems, and tools that have achieved measurable results.

The WMSH series is the result of collaborative efforts between the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) and the Department of Defense (DoD) to address the growing need for mental health services within the military and outside for those veterans who have left the service, the stigma associated with receiving care for the ‘invisible wounds’ of war (e.g., post-traumatic stress) can often times result in members not seeking out care. This collaboration between the VA/DoD is referred to as Integrated Mental Health Strategy (IMHS).

The Anger and Irritability Management Skills (AIMS) course focuses on helping Veterans and Service Members learn behavioral and cognitive skills to manage anger. AIMS' tools and techniques are based on Cognitive and Behavioral Therapy (CBT), a scientifically proven protocol. David Blair, Ph.D., Oak Grove's program manager says, "This course is unique because it is designed and developed specifically for Veterans seeking self-paced skill acquisition. Thousands of American Veterans and Service Members around the world have used this treatment protocol successfully."
