OAK GROVE TECHNOLOGIES SPONSORS SECOND ANNUAL WOUNDED WARRIOR GOLF TOURNAMENT AT FORT BRAGG

Fort Bragg, NC – Oak Grove Technologies recently sponsored the Second Annual Wounded Warrior Golf Tournament in support of the U. S. Army 82d Airborne Division’s Wounded Warriors (WWs). The tournament was held at Ryder Golf Course in Fort Bragg, North Carolina on July 31st.

As part of Oak Grove’s sponsorship package, six employees were able to participate in the 18-hole golf tournament. Two WWs joined our employees to complete two 4 person teams. All proceeds of the tournament went towards supporting WWs and their families. Additionally, enough funds were made to enable 42 WW’s and spouses to attend the 82d Airborne Division’s 2009 annual convention.

“You could see the excitement in the eyes of the young heroes who attended [the golf tournament],” said Cris Nunez, CSM (Ret) US Army / Office and Military Operations Manager of the Armed Services YMCA. “Some tried to play golf although they had never played before or were physically impaired. That inspired others to help and cheer them on while thanking them for protecting our country and the many freedoms we enjoy. I can’t wait until I introduce them at the convention and tell the attendees that these troopers are there because of the generosity of our civilian community. Many thanks to Oak Grove for their sponsorship of this wonderful event.”
